Debating is an activity that has profoundly changed my life for the better, and I thank ISDS for introducing me to it.
It has taught me to think analytically, and stand up for what I believe in. It has taught me to respect all human beings, and to interact with every person on an equal platform. Most importantly, it has taught me the power of persuasion – that persuasion is the key to changing the world and that engagement is a necessary component of reconciliation.
In my 8 years of debating, both as a debater and a coach, I’ve come to watch the lives of young people transform. It is a beautiful maturation that I wish every child in this country will one day have access to.
